In 2007, my first cookbook was published, “Gourmet Para Todos Los Días” (Gourmet for Every Day) . It quickly went on to be the #1 cookbook in Puerto Rico and stayed there for more than 10 weeks. The book features over 150 recipes all developed, tested, styled and photographed by me. In 2015 Avon Cosmetics published "El Recetario de Chef Maira Isabel"; a booklet sold through their catalogs and online. A hit among their customers featuring easy to make "restaurant" dishes at home. My second cookbook is always on the works. When would it be finished? Do not know. It is a labor of love and I am in no rush to publish it.
Besides, cookbooks I've also written a children's book called How Angels Become Babies,written for my daughter in order to explain the process of adoption.
